This page contains links to all SimpleScalarTM simulator software and release/install documentation.  All software is distributed in source form, please refer to this document for details on how to unpack ".tgz" tarballs.   The software contained on this page is distributed under an academic non-commercial use license.  Please refer to the SimpleScalar LLC commercial licensing summary for information regarding commercial use of SimpleScalar software (i.e., any use of SimpleScalar software by a commercial entity).

UNPACKING A brief note describing how to unpack ".tgz" tarballs on Unix or Windows platforms.
simplesim-3v0e.tgz The latest release (revision 3.0e) of the SimpleScalar 3.0 distribution.  The updates, fixes, and enhancements in this new release are detailed in the release announcement ("ANNOUNCE-3v0e.txt").  Click on over to the SimpleScalar documentation page for documents that describe how to run and modify these tools.
simpletools-2v0.tgz The current release of the SimpleScalar PISA GNU GCC compiler.  This distribution is required for users that wish to use the PISA instruction set target and build their own binaries.  The Active Pages project, at UC-Davis, distributes a version of the SimpleScalar compiler tools that is based on a newer version of GNU GCC (v2.7.2).  It is available here.
simpleutils-2v0.tgz The current release of the SimpleScalar PISA GNU binary utilities, including the PISA assembler, linker, objdump, and other useful utilities.  This distribution is required for users that wish to use the PISA instruction set target and build their own binaries.  The MIRV project, at University of Michigan, distributes a version of the SimpleScalar utilities that is based on a newer version of the GNU binutils (v990811).  This update also includes better support for PISA instruction assembly annotation.  It is available here.
